How to obtain your Florida Concealed Weapons Permit
1. Complete an authorized course with an accredited instructor.
2. Have the Range certification with a Qualified Instructor
3. Get a Certificate from the Instructor.
4. Take the Certificate to the Tax Collectors office in Brooksville (or you can use the one in Pasco County)
5. Hernando County Does Require that you set up an appointment.
6. Present your Certificate of Completion along with your Driver’s License
7. Follow the instructions at the Tax Collectors office

We are accepting applications for new Concealed Weapon License (CWL), as well as, Concealed Weapon License renewals at our main office at the Brooksville Courthouse. Fingerprints, photographs and related services will all be available to process new applications and renewals.

Note to Military Members and Veterans
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is now expediting all Florida concealed weapon or firearm license applications submitted by active military members and veterans.
Active military personnel who want to apply for a concealed weapon license should include a copy of their Common Access Card or other form of official military identification with their applications. FDACS will also accept a copy of service members' current orders as proof of active duty status.
Honorably discharged veterans should submit a copy of their DD 214 long form with their applications.

Face Masks/Coverings are required when using Concealed Weapon Permit services. No exceptions can be made due to the close proximity with our Customer Service Representative.
We are accepting applications for new concealed weapons permits as well as concealed weapon renewals at our Gulf Harbors (4720 US HWY 19, New Port Richey, FL 34652), Wesley Chapel (4610 Pet Ln, C 101, Lutz, FL 33559) and Dade City offices ONLY (14236 6th Street, Room 100 Dade City, FL 33523). Fingerprints, photographs and related services will all be available to process new applications and renewals.
Concealed Weapons Permit services will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This service is not available on Saturdays at this time. Appointments for concealed weapons permit applications and renewals are not required and customers will be served on a first come first served basis.
